As a cultural, environmental and arts organization, Haramokngna American Indian Cultural Center shares the flavor of Native American history, culture, traditions and arts with the Los Angeles community. We are always looking for energetic individuals ready to represent the Cultural Center during special events and regular office hours.

Eligibility:

  • Must be self-motivated and able to complete a task in a timely manner
  • 18 years or older
  • Have an interest in Native American History, Culture, Tradition and Art
  • For those interested in Docent and/or Artist in Resident (AIR) position there is mandatory training that must be attended as well as an interview with Cultural Center Steering Committee.

Volunteer Jobs include:

Entrance Greeter
Greets visitors/guests at the main entrance during exhibition openings or other special events. May also guide visitors to their event and answerers general questions about Haramokngna Cultural Center.

Docent
Gives tours of exhibitions as well as answer questions about the current art exhibition and make sure visitors are respecting the artwork on display (see eligibility requirement).

Front Center / Museum Attendant
In charge of making sure all Haramokngna rules are being enforced, greets guests as they come in, ensure guest have Angeles Forest parking pass, answers questions about Cultural Center. Also answer Angeles Forest general question about trails and directions.

Tour Guide
Has detailed knowledge about the Cultural Center to give a good presentation to visitors about the facility. Guide is trained by Haramokngna staff on the Cultural Center’s and points of interest.

PR/ Media Aid
Responsible for promoting Haramokngna events, spreading the word about special events and current exhibits, updating website, and gathering media clips related to Haramokngna.
